DESCRIPTION:Labor Day weekend we are excited to host Vancouver BC’s The GOAT [Groundwerk, Minimal Force] and see once more whether he lives up to his tongue-in-cheek name. Residents Alec Fursman & Ol’Skinny opening up.\nThe GOAT is the alias of Chris Marcinkiewicz, a Vancouver BC based Producer/DJ delivering hypnotic peak-time after-hours techno steeped in dark, abstract textures. Marcinkiewicz carries the same atmosphere of his menacing productions into his DJ sets. He moves dance floors into unfamiliar territory by shying away from overt melodies in favour of more primal sounds. It’s a style that was heavily inspired by his early days as a punk and thrash drummer and travels to Berlin and Eastern Europe. The GOAT has shared the stage with the likes of Chris Liebing, Layton Giordani, D-Unity, Kevin Saunderson, Dante Saunderson, Dave Angel, Claude Young, MAEDON, Cory Simpson and others.\nSince his first release the Flout EP. It debuted in Beatport’s Top 100 Techno Releases chart, and climbed to the top 10 on the Top 100 Minimal Releases.
