WAVES POP UP SERIES: RAILWAY (We are not affiliates of Train Car House Party ♥)

We are excited to announce a show for our pop-up series of events, WAVES Pop Up Series: Railway! During this brief intermission between shows, we have decided to orchestrate a “Roaring 20’s” Great Gatsby-esque pop up party on the train cars that are part of the Orient Express! This unique restaurant is composed of 3 train cars, and WAVES will be taking it over November 18th, at 9pm. We will be decorating the cars to fit the theme, complete with an art installation by our visuals team and fan performances by our flow chief, Regan Powers. The line-up features all your WAVES favorites, and a variety of electronic music genres, for a ticket price of $7. Remember this is themed, so we would love to see 20’s themed costumes! This event has a full bar, and is 21+. Hope to see you there!

ABOUT WAVES: WAVES is a collective of artists from various backgrounds that aim to bring diversity to the Seattle electronic music scene. Through the curation of events centered around music and artistic exhibition, we strive to focus on bringing a unique artistic element to our shows, while also providing an immersive experience for our attendees. WAVES is the result of collaborative efforts rooted within relationships formed through the shared love of the electronic music scene and the dynamic culture that encompasses it; however, as electronic dance music culture grows into the mainstream, as does the need for initiatives like our own to preserve the foundations that the electronic music scene was built upon. The core of these being the freedom of artistic expression, resistance and liberation from society’s afflictions, and most importantly, a deep love and respect for one and another. In this respect, the community of our culture is like no other. It is through this collective aspiring and dreaming that we have been able to grow as artists in ways never imagined, and has ultimately lead us here; now, we hope you will be a participant in achieving this shared goal and helping us make “WAVES.”

Thrillseekers at the Underground
Nov 22 all-day
Thrillseekers at the Underground @ The Underground | Seattle | Washington | United States

Seattle Trance Alliance presents The Sounds Of Trancegiving: The Thrillseekers

The Thrillseekers (Future Sound Of Egypt/5am): Steve Helstrip, aka The Thrillseekers, has been at the forefront of the world’s dance scene for well over a decade. From his first single ‘Synaesthesia’, through to the club anthems ‘The Last Time’, ‘Anywhere With You’ and ‘This Is All We Have’, Steve Helstrip has been behind some of the most emotive electronic music ever released. He’s worked with pioneers like Trevor Horn, shared co-production credits with Chicane and Ferry Corsten, and remixed for artists including Tiesto and Armin van Buuren. Steve is as well known as a DJ as he is a producer having captivated crowds the world over with his carefully crafted sets. Creamfields, Ministry of Sound, Godskitchen and Gatecrasher have all born witness to his fluid mixing, unique style and energetic performances. The Thrillseekers story started back in 1999, where, with a relatively basic home studio, Steve constructed the trance milestone that is ‘Synaesthesia’. Signed and released by Neo Records in 1999 at the height of the trance explosion it has gone on to sell over 1,000,000 copies, across its numerous, repeated worldwide releases. In late 2005 The Thrillseekers moved into compilation territory, with the release of ‘NightMusic Vol 1’. The CD and 30 date world tour that followed was an instant smash, generating State-side, Russian and Asiain releases of the compiltion. Summer 2007 saw the heavily anticipated follow up hit the stores, and repeated again in 2009 with NightMusic Vol 3.

After two huge vocal single releases ‘Waiting Here For You’ with Aruna and ‘The Last Time’ with fisher, fans were pleased to see the return of Steve’s remixing skills in 2009, as he completed Solarstone’s stunning ‘Part Of Me’ and Chicane’s ‘Poppiholla’, which spent over three weeks in the top 10 of the UK charts. However, rather than just concentrating on his productions, Steve set to the airwaves with his NightMusic Podcast and Radio Show concept, broadcasting to over 40 FM and internet radio stations and heard by over 2.5 million listeners worldwide every month. Not resting on his laurels and with a clear objective to think outside the box, he welcomed 2010 with the first phase of his Live Xtreme show. Steve’s 1 hour live performance includes his biggest club anthems remixed and replayed live on stage. It also features tracks from his other guises such as Rapid Eye, Hydra and Insigma and truly takes the live performance of Electronic Dance Music to the next level. To date Steve has showcased Live Xtreme at high profile events across the world including ETD Love (San Francisco), DancePort Festival (Taiwan), Gaudi Arena (Moscow), and twice at London’s Ministry of Sound.

Borgeous at Foundation [DISCOUNTED TICKETS]

USC Events & Foundation Nightclub present Elevate Saturdays: Borgeous

Borgeous is the alias of American EDM DJ and producer John Borger. Born in Miami although later relocated to Los Angeles, Borger began recording in the early 2000s. Playing around with various musical styles, he settled on dance music as his preferred genre. His tracks “From Cali with Love,” “Rags to Riches,” “GANGSTEROUS,” and “Aggro” soon garnered attention from the EDM community, giving Borger a platform for further releases on the labels Spinnin’ and Doorn. It was the track “Tsunami” — his collaboration with electronic duo DVBBS — that gained him worldwide recognition. The song was an international smash, first in 2013 in its original version, then again one year later when British rapper Tinie Tempah featured on an updated remix, “Tsunami (Jump),” that helped it hit the top of the British charts.

Note: This show has been rescheduled from September 30th to November 25th.

USC Events & Foundation Nightclub present Resonate Fridays: Savoy with Alex Boss, D-Rad, and Mortals

Born in Boulder, CO and based in Brooklyn, NY; SAVOY is a live electronic music hybrid consisting of DJs Ben Eberdt, Gray Smith and drummer Mike Kelly. The SAVOY experience can be described as a high energy dance party and laser spectacular that has been referred to as “mind blowing” on multiple occasions. With the combination of a inimitable live show and original repertoire, SAVOY has climbed their way up to national notoriety as well as established themselves as not only purveyor of one of the best parties around, but as world class song writers and producers.Club hits, blog dominating remixes, and arena rock-ing swagger; SAVOY is bridging the gap from the dance world to the mainstream. Their notoriously high energy live shows have spawned a hybrid dance culture of its own. The live electro-house trio has made a name for itself by effectively bridging the gap between the concert venue rocker and the club-bangin’ partier – and the result is a rapidly emerging new market that can’t seem to get enough. In such a short period of time, SAVOY has truly established themselves as not only talented producers but as innovators of live electronic music.

Shiba San with Lenny Kise at Q
Dec 1 all-day
Shiba San with Lenny Kise at Q @ Q Nightclub | Seattle | Washington | United States

Q Nightclub presents the Low_pass One-Year Anniversary: It’s time to set a higher bar for the low end of our music. Inspired by the sounds of bass house, G-house, UK garage, and more; Low_pass is our unfiltered take on uptempo, bassline-driven dance music. Q Nightclub’s award-winning Funktion-One sound system boasts 21 inch subwoofers and once a month we’re gonna find out just how far down the rabbit hole they’ll go.

Shiba San: There’s much more to Shiba San than what meets the first listen. Leaving behind a 15-year career of production experience in the French hip-hop scene, the Parisian producer became fascinated with the sounds of Chicago house and was inspired to create his own productions, infusing his hip-hop influence with the soul of house music. Then came ‘Okay,’ the track that “changed the way we listened to music” (Dancing Astronaut) and became the anthem of 2014. It claimed the No. 1 position on Beatport’s House chart for 82 days, remained in the House Chart’s Top 10 for over 180 days, was put on rotation by radio tastemakers like Pete Tong, Annie Mac and Danny Howard and received support from the likes of Claude VonStroke, Eats Everything, Green Velvet and nearly every major DJ under the sun. Upon its release, Rolling Stone deemed ‘Okay’ a “global club sensation in waiting,” a prophetic description that couldn’t have rung more true as it remains a commanding moment in DJ sets even to this day. But Shiba San is far from a one-hit wonder, following up “Okay” with the award-winning track “Burn Like Fire” (Best Underground Track 2015 IDMA/WMC). With releases out on labels known and loved for their irresistible tunes like Dirtybird and Suara, as well as his own imprint Basement Leak, he’s since seen his career launch off far and beyond the city limits of Paris.

Lenny Kiser: Lenny Kiser got into DJing after watching a turntable battle in Seattle when he was 16. After that he started to DJ and play hip-hop at house parties. Later Burning Man and his move to San Francisco inspired him to start DJing professionally. He’s been DJing and producing solo for the past four years. Kiser is big on bass house because of the emphasis on the low end and the energy it has. “It’s fun to experiment with bass because it’s the part that people will physically feel on a sound system. There’s still a lot of room for experimentation with this genre, which I’m testing out more in my upcoming tracks.”

Slow Magic at the Showbox Market
Dec 1 all-day
Slow Magic at the Showbox Market @ Showbox Market | Seattle | Washington | United States

Capitol Hill Block Party + Showbox present Slow Magic

A DIY project with worldwide scope, Slow Magic is universal and inclusive. It’s cosmic electronic music culled from the ether, yet crafted with human hands. It’s joyous, escapist, multi-disciplinary art that mixes transcendent performance with the nostalgic intimacy of two teenagers staying up too late on the phone. After the release of 2012’s beloved and critically-acclaimed Triangle, Slow Magic became an international movement after touring with artists like Gold Panda and XXYYXX. Crowds found a masked man in their midst, bathed in fantastic light, with electronic triggers and a drum. The future-primitive combination infused the project’s electronic compositions with new life. How To Run Away, Slow Magic’s debut with Downtown Records, reflects this growth, oozing both otherworldly beauty and a mastery of production. Lead single “Girls” is deconstructionist house with an organic pulse and collaged, handcrafted samples. “Hold Still” sculpts elastic organs and jazz piano into an emotionally-pummeling finale, while the melancholy “Let U Go” merges watery dub with spectral piano and “Closer” plays like a ‘90s R&B fever dream. Slow Magic is music by your imaginary friend.

Technimatic/DEEP N BASS at the Monkey Loft
Dec 1 all-day
Technimatic/DEEP N BASS at the Monkey Loft @ Monkey Loft | Seattle | Washington | United States

Yes, time really does fly when you’re having this much fun and this landmark couldn’t have happened without you so we went all out with this headliner. As you know this ever-evolving and constantly changing night has always had D&B as it’s backbone so what better way to celebrate our 48th show than bringing out one of the most legendary UK duos for their first Seattle appearance, we welcome:

TECHNIMATIC (Shogun Audio/ UK): Musically rich, emotionally charged and evocative drum & bass has fast become the trademark sound of Pete Rogers and Andy Powell aka Technimatic, now firmly established as a mainstay of the Shogun Audio roster. Having started making music together back in 2008 as Technicolour & Komatic, releasing their first record ‘Preacher’ on Technique’s sister imprint Worldwide Audio, little could be known of what the future had in store. Since then the duo have gone on to release their liquid-infused blend of hyper-coloured D&B on labels such as Critical, Hospital, SGN:LTD and even the seminal Good Looking with Technicolour’s own official remix of LTJ Bukem’s ‘Music’. Never resting on their laurels, Shogun Audio were quick to recognize the potential of Technimatic and signed them exclusively in 2012 to their sister imprint SGN:LTD. They went on to drop one of the most successful releases on the label, the formidable ‘Intersection’ EP, supported by the Mistajam and Friction amongst others on BBC Radio 1. Their contribution to Shogun’s award winning ‘Way Of The Warrior’ album series Pt.2 marked their graduation to the front line with the likes of Gilles Peterson supporting their ‘Bristol’ track on BBC 6Music.

Jody Wisternoff at the Underground @ The Underground | Seattle | Washington | United States

Seattle Trance Allinace & In Motion present Elements: Jody Wisternoff (Anjunadeep/Circle Artists Management )

“Am I a legend?”, asks Jody Wisternoff, questioning the question. “The thing is, legend tends to suggest you’ve had your time, got the pipe and slippers out and only work occasionally as the mood takes you, and nothing could be further from the truth in my case; I continue to push forward and evolve, plus I’m busier now than I’ve ever been!” Seriously? Clearly Jody Wisternoff is a man whose personal dictionary doesn’t contain the term ‘tread water’. Jody has indeed been pushing the envelope his entire career. Fusing Bristol’s dub roots with club beats Way Out West captured a sound unlike any other at that time and burst onto the mid-nineties dance scene with seminal hits such as ‘Ajare’ and top ten smash ‘The Gift’, which they even performed on Top of the Pops (RIP). When not appearing on nationally treasured TV programmes they could be found remixing the likes of Roni Size, M-People, Orbital, Tiesto, Sasha, BT, UNKLE, James Holden and Fatboy Slim’s Freak Power alter ego; touring the world alongside dance titans Faithless and The Prodigy and collaborating with Trevor Horn, arguably one of Britain’s most successful and revered producers. Jody’s incomparable ability to succeed with production and DJing has seen him climb to the highest heights of Beatport (and we’re talking THE overall, not genre chart here) and iTunes; remix Above & Beyond, Robert Babicz and more; tour the UK alongside 808 State legend Graham Massey; maintain a monthly show ‘Intensified ’ on Frisky radio, now in it’s eighth(!) year; take on an A&R development role for Anjunadeep signing acts such as Lane8 and Lancelot and, as if all of that weren’t enough, release his own solo album, ‘Trails We Blaze’.

Stylust Beats at the Crocodile

Stylust Beats at the Crocodile @ The Crocodile | Seattle | Washington | United States

The Crocodile presents Stylust Beats: Known for his sleeveless, whimsical synergy with the fans, Geoff “Stylust Beats” Reich has been creating his own counterculture since he was a teenager. A skate punk and hip-hop devotee, this groundbreaking DJ’s talent for fusing rap hooks and dubstep bass with multiple music genres has earned him the rep as a creative renegade carving his own path. With a style that captivates lovers of all music, the Canadian-bred San Francisco DJ has emerged as a frontrunner in the new wave of industry heavyweights. In a recent Artist of the Week interview for MusicYouNeed.net, this stereophonic chameleon explains the method to his madness, “My goal is to make timeless bass music: I try to make every track an epic melodic adventure through many different genres.” Blending classic turntablism with cutting edge tech prowess, Geoff has been touring as DJ Stylust Beats since 2008. Stretching all over the United States, Canada and Costa Rica, he has headlined major festivals, including Shambala, Envision and Burning Man, to name a few. Inspired by his older brother who was in a band, Stylust Beats began testing his musical mettle on the wheels of steel in 1998. His imaginative spins of counterintuitive genres were new territory back then, and he quickly gained fame as a fearless, party-rocking DJ reinventing the game. Within a couple of years, he took on the daunting challenge of producing and managing his own recording house, All-In Studios, which he ran successfully for ten years. This was the laboratory within which Stylust evolved from bass DJ to mad scientist, cutting his own brand of sonic mixology and perfecting his craft as prime-time producer.

Seattle Trance Alliance presents Disorderly New Year with Reorder

Reorder (FSOE/ATA): Since he made his debut for STA July 2016 Reorder has become a fan favorite in Seattle. Everyone at that show hails it as one of the best trance events of the year. We couldn’t think of a better act to ring in 2018 then our good friend, Tibor Tomecko. ReOrder is undoubtedly one of the most promising producers in the trance scene today. He regularly performs alongside the world’s DJ elite, his productions are widely supported and he is no stranger to fans of A State Of Trance. He already has several Future Favorites and Tune Of The Weeks up his sleeve. On stage ReOrder’s presence is as equally captivating as it is energetic. He smashed all expectations on all major festivals and club events around the globe such as A State Of Trance, Future Sound Of Egypt, Electronic Family, Luminosity Beach Festival, Transmission, Trance Fusion and many more, delivering tune after tune to a packed out arenas.

In addition to his original releases on Future Sound Of Egypt, Who’s Afraid Of 138, Raz Nitzan Music or Subculture in past years, ReOrder has also delivered top-drawer remixes for Armin van Buuren, Aly & Fila, Andy Moor, Max Graham, The Thrillseekers, Mark Sixma and many others. His latest productions have featured on some of the biggest compilations, including A State Of Trance, Future Sound Of Egypt, Ministry Of Sound’s ‘Trance Nation’, In Trance We Trust, In Search Of Sunrise and more. With his latest singles Love Again & Our Nature with Katty Heath or Way Finding Around, Venice Beach or Tomorroworld (in collaboration with Ferry Tayle), ReOrder is simply a must have article. ReOrder also worked alongside UK producer Standerwick as SkyPatrol. As one of the hottest team-ups in trance, they have delivered hit after hit, and also collaborated with Aly & Fila on their album ‘The Other Shore’. All of their singles from Folding Your Universe, Sailing Airways, Skyres to Shut Up! were always beatport’s top sellers!

Marbs at the Monkey Loft
Jan 1 all-day
Marbs at the Monkey Loft @ Monkey Loft | Seattle | Washington | United States

We’re back! For the 7th year in a row, Shameless is continuing our tradition of throwing a New Years DAY party and it’ll once again take place on our favorite rooftop rain or shine. This year we’re expanding to 3 rooms of music with your favorite family/friends to start 2017 off right. We realize we’re still a number of months away before we get to celebrate the new year together, but we wanted to share the news that Marbs will be joining us as a part of his Fall tour. Just Ups & Still Ups unite!

Featuring Marbs (Desert Hearts, LA):

The sun fades, the last glitter trails of light hit the shimmering and spinning dusty desert disco ball. A throng of dedicated and debauched hard partying Marbie’s Barbies hurtle their way towards center stage (really…they’re Barbies), educated party-goers make their way to the dance floor, no questions asked, while whispers of “King of Darkness, crazy house and techno, psychedelic vibes” spread through the new night sky. The first melodic notes travel the space, ethereal beauty pouring from the stacked Funktion speakers, waving its way through the crowd. Your eyes close, your body grooves to the sounds and the beats and the thuds of the tech house that is now expertly laid out for all to enjoy. Dark and driving, thumping techno is paired with mystical, beautiful, melodic house. That passionately and expertly paired genre bending style can only mean one thing. Marbs has taken the decks. Having grown up in Southern California with the now notoriously known motley crew called Desert Hearts, Marbs, an artistic kid, was primarily influenced by legends like Pink Floyd and Tool, while also listening to underground hip hop, reggae, and rock, displaying his no holds barred love for all genres from an early age. Flash forward to San Francisco’s Love Fest, art cars roaming the city, house music spilling from speakers, and Marbs’ musical tastes were forever changed thanks to ruler of the house music game and party guru, Lee Burridge.

After years of djing the San Diego, LA, and Burning Man party circuits, the Desert Hearts crew took it upon themselves to throw their own kind of party. One built on love, acceptance, and strictly, House and Techno, their 2012 one time gathering of 200 people in the Mojave (the coldest one ever, we swear!!) has turned into one of the most talked about and adored boutique festivals in the US. None of which could be possible without Marbs, lovingly coined, “Papa Bear”, he is truly the backbone of the project behind the scenes, where he runs most of the logistics with a steady hand and a humble heart. He’s easily one of the nicest guys on the planet and is the most modest of the crew, which is insane given his endless barrage of talents beyond his musical endeavors. While Desert Hearts catapults successfully into the scene as a major player through their twice yearly festival, touring internationally throwing parties under the moniker City Hearts, and launching a (free!) record label, Marbs continues to hone his production skills and also blows the art game out of the water, hand drawing all of the label’s artwork and inspiring tattoo artists everywhere. Marbs’ musical talents and humble dj presence commands any dance floor with his sounds of mystical darkness and whimsical tribal rhythms; the night sky is the limit for this King of Darkness. With a sound like no other, a heart of gold, and a determination matched by few, Marbs is sure to lead this movement of love until the very happy end.

+ much much more TBA down the road. Stay tuned!

In Motion presents Progress: Chicane: Chicane is a British composer, songwriter, and record producer. Among his works are singles”Offshore”, an Ibiza trance anthem included in many compilations in both chill-out and dance versions; “Saltwater”, which featured vocals by Clannad member Máire Brennan, and the UK number-one hit “Don’t Give Up”, featuring vocals by Bryan Adams, which became a top ten hit on singles charts across Europe and Australia. Far from the Maddening Crowds, Chicane’s debut album from 1997, is still considered a seminal release among the trance music community, while the second album, 2000’s Behind the Sun, was certified gold in the UK. In 2007, after the hindrance of an ultimately unreleased album (Easy to Assemble) in the intervening time, the third artist album Somersault was released on Bracegirdle’s independent record label, followed shortly after by a tenth anniversary re-release of Far from the Maddening Crowds which included a new mix of “Offshore” (“Offshore 2007”). He released his fourth studio album Giants in 2010, with the fifth studio album Thousand Mile Stare following less than two years later, in spring 2012. The sixth studio album, The Sum of Its Parts, appeared in early 2015. In addition, Bracegirdle also worked under the aliases Disco Citizens, producing a handful of less radio-friendly, vocal-less tracks with a stronger progressive house sound. Working with singer Vanessa St. James and producer Mr. Joshua, Bracegirdle was part of the Mr. Joshua Presents Espiritu project, known for the song “In Praise of the Sun”, released with both English and French vocals. Bracegirdle contributed with executive production on Tomski’s “14 Hours to Save the Earth”. Nick Bracegirdle has also used the alias, Sitvac, to produce a one-time single, “Wishful Thinking.”

USC Events & Foundation Nightclub present Elevate Saturdays: Breathe Carolina

The multi-faceted, Colorado-based EDM/post-hardcore/electro-pop unit Breathe Carolina was founded in 2006 by Kyle Even and David Schmitt. The Denver group’s blend of synth-based beats and melodic screaming first appeared on the public radar in 2007 with the self-released Gossip EP. It was followed in 2008 by the band’s first full-length for Rise Records, It’s Classy, Not Classic, which featured all of the tracks that appeared on Gossip with six additional new songs. Hello Fascination was released in 2009 and peaked at number 43 on the Billboard 200, and in 2011, the group released their third full-length, Hell Is What You Make It. Though founding member Kyle Even left the group in 2013 to focus on being a parent, Breathe Carolina would continue without him, eventually releasing a fourth album, Savages, in 2014, which featured the singles “Collide,” “Bang It Out,” “Sellouts,” and “Savages.” The following year saw the release of a new single, “More Than Ever,” a collaboration with Ryos featuring vocalist KARRA. It was issued via Dutch indie Spinnin’ Records. Over the next year, Breathe Carolina had a prolific streak, releasing a bevy of high-profile singles and a pair of EPs in 2016’s Sleepless and Oh So Hard. They collaborated with artists like Blasterjaxx, APEK, Haliene, and many more. Another EP called Coma, again for the Spinnin’ label, arrived in 2017.

Neumos presents Two Feet

Two Feet’s emergence seems as mysterious as it is rapid. It is the project of an early 20-something year old singer, multi-instrumentalist, and producer hailing from Harlem, New York. He seamlessly blends genres to create a unique sound that draws from electronic music, jazz, blues, and soul. Releasing his debut EP, First Steps, on his SoundCloud page in 2016, the breakthrough track “Go Fuck Yourself” quickly gained him attention and over 8 million plays. Perhaps most importantly, it gained him the attention of Youtube giant Majestic Casual who enthusiastically signed the artist.

Keys N Krates at the Showbox Sodo @ Showbox Sodo | Seattle | Washington | United States

Showbox presents Keys N Krates with Jubilee.

Keys N Krates formed as the brainchild of drummer Adam Tune, synth/keyboard aficionado David Matisse and internationally award-winning turntablist Jr. Flo. The Toronto trio came together in 2008 with the desire to bring their blend of live electronic instrumentation to the stage. They’ve often been referred to as the world’s only “trap band,” a title they reluctantly accept. Tune says it best:

“At the end of the day, people are going to call us whatever they want. We are referencing everything from classic house music to Timbaland in our beats, but I think the trap references tap into what the current sound is, and we are okay with that.”

Check out the lead single from Keys N Krates upcoming debut album “Glitter”.
