Simon Doty makes his Hiyu debut – OCT 24th! We’re kicking off ViViD’s Fall Programming with the return of fam favorite Simon Doty. Tough grooves. Gritty analog. Minimal melodies. Pure Simon Doty. Fresh off stages like Brooklyn Mirage, The Gorge, Fabric, and Red Rocks, Simon is back to deliver his first appearance on the Hiyu.
Simon Doty: Simon Doty’s origins from deep in Canada’s Western wilderness to a college basketball shooting guard are unlikely beginnings for the development of a finely tuned electronic artist. After years mastering his sound and ascending the ranks of the underground circuit, Doty’s evolution continues. This sound selector and creator is a self-taught gear master ‘whiz kid’ with a profound understanding of musical composition and engineering that has earned the ear of his peers and heroes alike. With a consistent yet dynamic signature sound defined by gritty analog synthesis, minimal melodies and tough, driving grooves; formative influences like Hot Since 82 and Jamie Jones and are now counted among Simon’s most ardent supporters. Industry icons Pete Tong and Danny Howard have taken notice, with regular first plays and support on their BBC Radio 1 programs.
