As the spring sun takes the sky and the night shortens away, Impact! is delighted to bring you a chance to come wade in the cool waters of Dream Pool once again. Bringing together artists both local and far, we come with offerings of sweet synthesizer melodies, gently droning strings, soft woodwinds, captured moments of sound, and much more. Come relax and let yourself slip away with us. Can’t wait to see y’all laying on the floor for Dream Pool VI!
V.Vecker, currently hailing from Kansas City, uses saxophone and electronics to creates soundscapes through a dense layering process that combines found sound, affected instrumentation and synthesis.
Broback / Teske / Kennon brings us harmonic string drones, improvisations on an amplified acoustic trio of double bass, viola, and violin.
Burial Cake, formerly known as Droneroom, visiting us from Tacoma, bring with them gentle tones and drones of ambient country on solo guitar.
Shimi presents us with live mixing of field recordings and layering of found sound that evoke environments that have not, do not, or should not come to pass.
Rocket Mermaid makes her return to Dream Pool with a deep drone ambient set, performed on modular synthesizer.
With keyboards, effects processors, and a theramin, Zando weaves an etherial soundscapes, setting a cinematic space in which the score becomes a part of your story.
