Shameless presents Club YES: We’re celebrating 23 years of Shameless with one of our longtime favorite DJ/Producers… CURSES (Berlin). 2 rooms of music with Shameless residents and house music downstairs in the Green Room. (Club YES is a nod to our previous crewmate Tipppet Aka MC Anton Bomb who passed away a few years ago)
Curses (Italians Do It Better – Berlin): Berlin-based Musician/DJ Curses is known for blending the nostalgia of New Wave and energetic Italo-Disco with flashes of Post-punk and live ghostly vocals over DJ sets, bringing a cinematic energy to the club. Recognised for his dark, romantic style, Curses’ intuition and experience allows him to adapt to different environments whilst maintaining an authentic storytelling within various underground genres. From heavy hitting body music to the uplifting nostalgia of Italo and Proto-House, his knowledge and flexibility keeps the dancefloor moving. The new album ‘Another Heaven’ just released with legendary Synth-wave label, Italians Do It Better, co-produced by Johnny Jewel. Curses has also done vocals for Artists such as Âme (‘Shadow of Love’), on legendary Berlin-label Innervisions, keeping true to his punk and new wave approach on electronic music. Previous albums released on Dischi and fashion house, Saint Laurent. Curses has brought his unique sound to iconic venues such at DC-10 and festivals like Nuits Sonores and Grauzone, as well his residency at Berlin’s infamous Pornceptual party. Hosting a Monthly radio show, Together Alone, on Rinse FM France, Curses has also released various EP’s and singles with labels such as, Oráculo, Bordello a Parigi, Running Back, and Wrong Era. Curses is responsible for curating the acclaimed vinyl compilation series and party, Next Wave Acid Punx, showcasing a passion for New Beat, Body Musik, Post-punk and proto-trance electro sounds, which continues to gain a passionate cult following worldwide, including multiple support from BBC Radio 6. Curses continues to bring a romantic and punk energy to the club, threading the ethereal nostalgia of the 80s and 90s into the future of now.
