Nighthawk returns once more. Above, the room is placed in steady hands. Gene Lee and Wesley Holmes preside -selectors of long standing, shaping the night with precision and restraint. Karl Kamakahi and Miss Min.d support, each carrying their own stature in the city’s lineage. The set is laid with intention and worked by degrees: controlled, deliberate, exacting. The floor is drawn in, held, and slowly brought to temperature. By afterhours, the chamber stands fully heated -euphoric, unguarded and ruled by instinct.
Below, we have passed through New Wave, Disco, and the first break of Hiphop. On this night the current shifts from street rhythm to electric impulse. Deep House in the Loft, as is Nighthawk’s standard. Electroclash. Bloghouse. Electro house. The moment when the floor traded vinyl for voltage. When signal replaced source. A little glamour.
