I thought that last “final” announcement was a bit weak.  I loved the addition of Dirtyphonics (great show at the Showbox Market, definitely a fun group to see live) and the DnB legends, but this “massive” really needed a big name to bring the lineup on par with the hype.  And here we have it!

CALVIN HARRIS!!!!!!!

Yes.  YES.  YESSSSSS!!!!!!!  The one and only Calvin Harris will be in Seattle for Lucky 2012!  I confess, I have a personal obsession with Calvin Harris – when I first moved to Seattle and started listening to edm again in 2008, C89.5 got me hook, line and sinker when they started playing “I’m Not Alone”, especially the DeadMau5 remix.   And so began my second love affair with edm…

USC final FINAL artist announcement:

USC Events and DI are very excited to announced Calvin Harris for Lucky 2012!

Calvin Harris is one of dance music’s most internationally renowned producers and remixers. In the past few years, he has released several number one singles including and “Feel So Close”, sold millions of records, and produced for a-list recording artists including Kyle Minogue & Rhianna. He has released two gold-selling artist albums, ‘I Created Disco’ and ‘Ready For The Weekend’, and has was recently named ‘UK’s Most Successful Songwriter Of 2011′. With a third album due to be released this year and a seemingly never-ending track record of number one singles, Calvin Harris is only getting bigger and bigger.

With a such an illustrious career, it is easy to attribute Calvin Harris’ success to luck. However, it is truly hard work and a pioneering vision that has catapulted Calvin Harris to where he is today. He entered the world of dance music with the goal to create something that has not yet been created and his authenticity has allowed him to create an irresistibly infectious trademark sound that is impossible to ignore. While he harbors an impressive production record, he is no doubt an equally impressive DJ. He has mastered the art of pulling from a menagerie of genres to create an insatiable dance sound, taking over the decks with the singular mission of getting people to dance!

With Calvin Harris on the lineup, we are definitely getting lucky at Lucky 2012!
