Announcement: Above & Beyond at Foundation 2/9 – SOLD OUT
Good morning, today EmeraldCityEDM has some bad news for trance fans:
Announced on Facebook: “Tickets for Progression Saturdays with Above & Beyond have sold out in a record 2 hours 45 minutes!“.
Didn’t know about the event? You’re not alone, there are many people upset with how USC Events handled the event announcement; this is evidenced by multiple Facebook comments on both the Facebook event page and both USC Events‘ and Foundation‘s Facebook pages. The event was originally announced via Facebook & Twitter on January 10th at 4:30pm, however the standard barrage of Facebook event invitations was not released, leaving many fans not notified of the show. However if you’re a die hard Above & Beyond fan, you knew that this announcement was coming – on the latest episode of Group Therapy Radio (formerly TATW), A&B announced that they would be seeing Seattle, Portland Hawaii, and Vancouver BC in February; and with the Portland stop on 2/8 and BC on 2/10, anyone could deduce that 2/9 was Seattle’s date.
I’m going to go ahead and say it – I’ll pass. After attending two sold out events at Foundation, I predict that this session of Group Therapy is going to be very hot and crowded with no room to dance. Foundation has definitely been pushing the limit with capacity, and I’m not a fan of being packed into a club like sardines. I absolutely love Foundation on a non-sold-out night though, Figure in November was absolutely amazing with plenty of space to move around and dance. I’ll wait for my Group Therapy with A&B at a different venue, preferably outdoors – one of the best Group Therapy sessions I’ve ever experienced was poolside in Vegas and it was absolutely amazing.
Scalpers are already selling tickets on Craigslist for ~150$. I urge you to resist buying from scalpers as this will only encourage more scalping. As Marc Pospisil of P3E Events stated online: “wow… I am disgusted by the ppl trying to charge 3x for tickets because they did some shady shit & bought them out in hopes of making money off someone else. DO NOT SUPPORT SCALPERS… A&B is great don’t get me wrong, but Foundation has SO MUCH Great trance coming its not at all worth paying $125-150 for tickets to a show that was $45. All you are doing is making scalpers money, and ensuring they will continue to buy out all the tickets for shows like this in attempt to gouge EDM fans. Lets teach them a lesson… DO NOT BUY SCALPER TICKETS AT INFLATED PRICES, go to Vancouver & see them, wait till next time, go to the other EPIC shows Foundation has lined up for trance, but what is happening is just plain wrong…”
