May 2021 Update: 2021 rescheduled Summer Meltdown Festival has officially been canceled. Read the statement here, all tickets and passes will be automatically refunded.

Dearest Melters,

We write today with a heavy heart to announce that we are canceling Summer Meltdown 2021. While the reopening update from the Governor’s office came as a welcome surprise last week, the reality is that there are still too many hurdles and too many unknowns for us to provide you with the Summer Meltdown experience you know and love.

This was an incredibly hard decision to make, and we explored every possible scenario (and lost a fair amount of sleep!) before making this call. We want you to know how much we appreciate you all for holding out hope for Meltdown, and we’re sorry we couldn’t get there this year.

All 2021 tickets, parking, and everything will be refunded in full over the next 2 weeks on an ASAP basis so that you can get to supporting other live music events this summer! If you have any concerns about your refund, please email (preferably from the email address you used to purchase) [email protected]. We wish you all a beautiful spring and summer, and look forward to MELTING AGAIN – at FULL capacity – in 2022!

We love you all. -Summer Meltdown Festival

5/6/2020 Update: The 20th anniversary of Summer Meltdown Festival has officially been postponed until 2021. Tickets and all purchases will carry over to next year, but you can request a refund if you’d like. Tickets for 2021 are now available to purchase, see below.

Meltdown has confirmed that the following artists are confirmed for next year with more likely to follow: GRiZ, Greensky Bluegrass, Big Wild, Jai Wolf, The Disco Biscuits, Galactic feat. Anjelika Jelly Joseph, Opiuo, Akylla, Balkan Bump, Brass Against, Brograss, Cedar Teeth, Chong the Nomad, Cory Wong (of Vulfpeck), Cosmic Serenity, Crooked Colours, Cycles, Cytrus, Della Mae, döp, Dr. Fresch, Five Letter Word, Flowmotion, High Pulp, Karl Blau, Lotus Drops, Manatee Commune, Sol, Swatkins & The Positive Agenda, The Funk Hunters, The Ries Brothers, True Loves, TRUTH, Wolfchild, Yak Attack, Zach Deputy, Field Trip, Milk + Honey, Sub 49 and The Inturnship.

SEE YOU IN 2021! Hey Melters – first off, we love you. Like, LOVE you, and we want you to stay safe and healthy, both mentally and physically, because the good times will roll again.
That said, the good times gotta roll differently this summer. In our 20 year history, and in our lifetimes, we couldn’t have imagined something like this pandemic. But, it’s here. In consultation with all our wonderful collaborators, it became clear that having a big get-together this summer isn’t going to be a safe thing to do.

So, set your countdowns for August 5-8, 2021, when we will all melt together again, for our delayed 20th anniversary. Most of our lineup has been awesome enough to stick with us through all this madness, and those you don’t see haven’t said no, they’re just working some stuff out on their side. …

And now, we’re going to ask you to do what all these amazing artists have done, and carry your tickets to the other side. We are an independently produced and managed event, organized by husband and wife team Josh Clauson and Genevieve Hayton who live on Genevieve’s family farm out near Mt. Vernon. We’re going to be honest that this is a nightmare scenario for an event of our size, and that it will make a huge difference if most of our ticketbuyers can hold on to their tickets. We aren’t getting a big insurance payout, and there’s no music conglomerate swooping in to save us, so we’ve made a plan to make it work. It’s going to be hard, but we can do it. It will be so much less hard if Melters can help by investing in a Melty future.

But, we’re family. If you’re struggling, we understand. So, if you need a refund, you can get it by requesting it now thru MAY 20, 2020 at 11:59 pm PT– please see details here.

We’re hoping so much for everyone in Darrington, Arlington, and all the small towns that welcome us to stay healthy and weather the storm. It’s going to be sad not to come together with our magical staff, vendors, artists, and, very much, all of you. This will be a quiet year of healing, gardening, and envisioning a better future that includes making 2021 the best year EVER at Meltdown!

We will get through this. Please take care of yourselves, check in with each other, and definitely come up with ways to Melt responsibly all year long. –Summer Meltdown Festival

Summer Meltdown Festival returns to Darrington on August 6th – 9th, 2020! Weekend passes are on sale now. 2020 will be Summer Meltdown Festival’s 20 year anniversary! Once a backyard party that came with a keg cup, the Summer Meltdown Festival is now the “largest locally-produced independent camping and music festival in the Pacific Northwest”.

Join us Aug 6-9, 2020 for our 20th anniversary. We’re talking about 20 years of adventure and great music. The river, the beach at bacon point, Whitehorse Mountain turning gold at dusk and pink at dawn. Nobody’s a stranger at Meltdown, we’re united young and old with the common goal of sharing the best weekend of summer. We make it that way together, loading our cars from all over the west and driving into the North Cascades, bringing unicorn floaties, absurd costumes, and plenty of goodies to share with friends. Somewhere on the dance floor the truth is revealed: life is a silent disco if you’re living it right! Come melt with us! -Summer Meltdown Festival

Only 90 minutes from Seattle and Bellingham, the Summer Meltdown Festival is an annual tradition for thousands of music lovers and adventure seekers. Along with top tier musical acts, both live and DJ, there is also a vendor village for food and crafts, shaded campgrounds, a river for swimming and sun basking, a yoga tent to warm up your dancing muscles, an affordable beer garden, kids’ village, workshops, regional art, and adventure activities such as river rafting and horseback riding that depart directly from the festival! Meltdown invites all to join where the music meets the mountain.
